Relationship Therapy, Couples Therapy & EMDR in Stafforshire
Therapy for when relationships feel harder than they should

Based in Cubley, on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border, I offer relationship therapy, couples therapy, EMDR, and psychotherapy for individuals and couples across Staffordshire.
Many of the people I work with feel emotionally exhausted from trying to keep everything together. You may find yourself overthinking, becoming reactive in relationships, shutting down emotionally, or feeling stuck in the same painful cycles despite insight, effort, or previous therapy.
At times, relationships can begin to feel draining, confusing, or disconnected. You may long for closeness and reassurance, yet still find yourself feeling hurt, misunderstood, or emotionally alone within your relationship.
Often, these patterns are shaped by earlier emotional experiences that continue to influence how you respond to conflict, intimacy, vulnerability, and connection in the present.
My work focuses not only on understanding these patterns, but helping you begin to shift the emotional experiences that keep them in place.
Individual Therapy in Staffordshire
Individual therapy can help when life begins to feel emotionally overwhelming or when old patterns continue to repeat in ways that leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or exhausted.
Many of the people I work with appear capable and high-functioning externally while internally struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, or a persistent sense of self-doubt.
You may notice yourself people-pleasing, overthinking, becoming emotionally reactive, or disconnecting from your own needs while trying to hold everything together for everyone else.
Together, we begin to understand how these patterns developed and work towards creating a stronger sense of emotional safety, self-trust, and connection both within yourself and in your relationships.
Couples Therapy in Staffordshire
Couples often come to therapy feeling stuck in repetitive cycles of conflict, emotional distance, frustration, or misunderstanding.
You may both care deeply about one another, yet still feel unable to communicate without conversations escalating, becoming defensive, or ending in withdrawal and disconnection.
Over time, these cycles can begin to affect trust, emotional closeness, and physical intimacy, leaving both partners feeling lonely, resentful, or unseen.
In couples therapy, we work to understand the emotional cycle beneath the conflict helping both partners feel more emotionally safe, understood, and connected to one another again.
Taking the First Step
If you are feeling stuck in painful relationship patterns, emotional overwhelm, or disconnection, therapy can offer a space to begin making sense of what is happening and why these cycles continue.
Sessions are available in person in Cubley, on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border, or online across the UK and Europe.

EMDR Therapy in Staffordshire
EMDR therapy can help when past experiences continue to affect how you feel, respond, and relate in the present.
Sometimes trauma is obvious. At other times, it may show up more subtly through emotional overwhelm, anxiety, panic, shame, fear of rejection, or difficulties feeling emotionally secure in relationships.
I integrate EMDR alongside approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Schema Therapy, allowing the work to support both emotional healing and deeper relational change.
Supporting Clients Across Staffordshire
Sessions are available in person at my private practice in Cubley, on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border, or online across the UK and Europe via Zoom.
The practice is conveniently located near Uttoxeter and within easy reach of Burton upon Trent, Stoke-on-Trent, and surrounding areas, just five minutes from the A50 Sudbury roundabout.
My Approach
My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Schema Therapy.
I specialise in helping individuals and couples move beyond surface-level coping strategies and begin changing the deeper emotional patterns driving distress, conflict, and disconnection.
Over time, therapy helps you feel more emotionally secure, more connected in your relationships, and more able to respond differently rather than becoming pulled into the same painful cycles.
