Relationship Psychotherapist
You may be feeling distant, stuck in the same painful arguments, or longing for connection that never quite lands. Maybe you're walking on eggshells, shutting down to avoid conflict, or finding it hard to feel seen and understood by your partner. The bond that once felt secure might now feel confusing, fragile, or lost.
Couples I work with often arrive feeling emotionally disconnected, caught in patterns of blame, silence, or hurt that repeat without resolution. Some are working to rebuild trust after betrayal or years of growing apart. Others are navigating life changes, parenthood, loss, or external stress, that have reshaped their relationship. Beneath the tension, there's usually a desire to feel close again, to repair, and to be understood.
Over time, this can begin to affect not only how you feel in your relationships, but also your experience of intimacy and sex including loss of desire, differences in libido, performance anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself or your partner. Often, these difficulties are deeply linked to how safe, secure, and understood we feel within ourselves and in our relationships.
I’m a relational psychotherapist specialising in emotionally focused couples therapy (EFT) and Schema therapy (a parts-based approach to working with couples). I help partners identify and shift the emotional patterns that keep them stuck, moving from reactivity or withdrawal toward deeper emotional safety, connection, and responsiveness. My approach is non-blaming, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship, not just individually.
Sessions are available in person at my private practice in Cubley, Derbyshire, or online across the UK and Europe via Zoom. I’m just 10 minutes from Uttoxeter and Ashbourne, and within 20 minutes of Stoke-on-Trent, Burton upon Trent, and Derby, just five minutes off the A50 Sudbury roundabout.
While I primarily offer mid to long-term couples therapy, with weekly sessions offering the consistency needed for lasting relational change. Feel free to reach out to ask about availability or how I might support you both.
I offer an inclusive, affirming space for all couples. I'm a neurodivergent- and LGBTQ+ friendly therapist who welcomes all dynamics, backgrounds, and identities. You’re welcome to get in touch by email, phone, or text if you’d like a brief chat before booking.

Why Seek Relationship Therapy
Relationship therapy can be a powerful tool for fostering healing, growth, and positive change.
When facing significant challenges, couples therapy provides a supportive space to make critical decisions, build self-awareness, and work together to recognise and break unhelpful relationship patterns. It encourages each partner to take responsibility for their part, creating a foundation of trust and safety within themselves and the relationship.
Couples counselling also offers a space to navigate major life choices that may impact your future, such as marriage, having children, or relocating the list goes on!
Additionally, relationship therapy can facilitate respectful endings, providing guidance through separation or divorce and helping address co-parenting concerns to prevent future resentment.
By addressing these difficult issues in a safe and supportive environment, therapy promotes healing, clarity, and a renewed sense of direction, paving the way for healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
